the amorous attentions of the king's brother-in-law. She falls in love with
Charudatta, though he is married and penniless. They have an affair.
Meanwhile, the rightful heir to the throne - King Palaka's brother - escapes
from prison. The king's brother-in-law strangles Vasantasena when she refuses to
submit to him and leaves her for dead and Charudatta is arrested for her murder. What happens to him and the
other characters constitutes the final part of the film.

has completed Harry Baweja's Yeh Kya Ho Raha
Hai in a record time of 40 days. In fact
before Mehta's film could hit the floor, he
organised a 40 day workshop for the artistes
of the film, "So that they would not
have any inhibitions shooting before the
camera," Hansal said. Yeh Kya Ho Raha
Hai is based on Hollywood hit American Pie.
"The film glorified sex while I have
toned it down keeping the Indian audience
and the censors in mind. My film is about
the youth and their outlook towards sex. We
are eager to know about it in our growing up
years. I have picturised it in a comic
way," he says.
