AAJA
NACHLE Madhuri Dixit, Konkona Sen Sharma and Kunal
Kapoor
After nearly a decade, an unexpected phone call shakes Dia (Madhuri
Dixit) out of her dance rehearsal in New York.
Makarand (Darshan Zariwala), her teacher, her guru, is dying and she must
return to Shamli town. The town where she grew up, the town where she learnt
to live and to dance. Also the town she left on an impulse, severing ties
with her parents and her people.
It is a poignant and troubled return; not only has her guru passed away but
the institution that he so lovingly nurtured is in decay and under threat of
demolition. Ajanta theatre, the once vibrant hub of the community, the place
where Dia’s fondest memories are embedded must now be brought down because
the local political authorities feel it a waste of prime real estate.
With the help of Doctor (Raghubir Yadav), the caretaker of Ajanta, Dia sets
out on a mission to prevent the destruction and resurrect the spirit of
Ajanta. In an atmosphere of mistrust, ridicule and active hostility, Dia
picks up the gauntlet and agrees to achieve the near impossible task of
putting together a theatrical production. She must

And if a door doesn’t open by greasing then he doesn’t mind opening it forcefully.

A newspaper publisher Manik Dasgupta (Mithun Chakraborty) and a firebrand journalist Shyam (R. Madhavan) expose many irregularities in the functioning style of Guru Bhai.
Manik Dasgupta (Or Nanaji), a Gandhian, was the man whom Guru earlier considered as his father. Even though they respected each other personally, their ideologies clashed. Guru’s wife Sujatha (Aishwarya Rai) is the pillar of support that always stands by him in the biggest of crisis. BLACK FRIDAY
Kay Kay Menon, Aditya Srivastava, Pawan Malhotra
Friday, 12th March, 1993 - A black spot in the history of India. The day which shook the world when bombings took place in Mumbai.
9th March, 2003 - 3 days before the bombs exploded across the financial capital of India, a man called Gul Mohammed had confessed at the Nav Pada poilce station about the blasts. His warning wasn't paid any heed and on 12th March, the unthinkable happened while taking away 300 lives.
Investigations began and soon an abandoned vehicle filled with explosives and weapons was found. Further it was also found that the vehicle belonged to one Rubina Memon, who was the sister-in-law of Tiger Memon [Pawan Malhotra], a man who had a criminal record of being a smuggler and was a resident of Mahim, Bombay. Soon Asgar Muqadam, Tiger Memon's secretary, was in police net and confessed to knowing about the proceedings to the bomb blasts.
Mumbai police added on to the heat with an intense investigation that went for an entire month of March and April. Inspector Rakesh Maria was the man in charge and together he and his team went all around Mumbai while locking up suspects like Mushtaq Tarani, Parvez Shaikh, Abdul Ghani Turk, Imtiaz Ghavate, and Shoaib Ghansare. There were many more to be caught though, notably being Javed Chikna, Anwar Theba, Bashir Khan, Iqbal, Farooq Pawle, Irfan, Tainur, Shahnawaz, Babloo, Moin, Naseem, Zakir, Firoze, Mehmood and Badshah Khan.
Badshah Khan [Aditya Srivastava], who was a part of the entire conspiracy and had gone into a hiding after the blasts. Waiting for a word from Tiger, his run from the police came to an end as he got arrested at his village in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh on May 10, 1993. On questioning, he revealed that the bombing was carried out as a revenge for the atrocities suffered by the Muslim minority community during the December 1992 and January 1993 Bombay riots.
Story started unfolding about the actual reasons behind the bombings. Between Dec 1992 and Jan 1993, there were Hindu Muslim riots that had hit the city of Mumbai. One such sufferer was Tiger Memon whose office was burnt. Later underworld leaders in Dubai started devising ways to hit back in retaliation and Tiger Menon came up with an idea of an attack on Mumbai.
Meanwhile the city was still not considered safe since investigation revealed that there was a large amount of unused RDX explosive kept somewhere. Yeda Yaqub Khan was the man who knew about its whereabouts and after his family comprising of his brother and sister-in-law were arrested by the police, he ran for a while, only to surrender to the police. He turned into police witness and told them about the origin of explosives being Pakistan.
In the meantime Badshah Khan too decided to become a police witness and rattled down an entire chain of events that led to the blasts. From smuggling of the explosives to the training in Pakistan to his first meeting with Tiger Memon, he told the police all what they wanted to know. With such information in hands, the police filed a charge sheet against 189 accused on November 4, 1993 while CBI took over the case henceforth. A few months passed by and Tiger's brother, Yaqub Memon, too surrendered to the authorities on August 5, 1994.
Anurag Kashyap's much cherished dream of showcasing on the big screen about the series of events that happened and the entire drama that unfolded is finally being realized as his 'Black Friday' gets set for a February release. The film is based on a book by S. Hussain Zaidi and is presented in a docudrama format. |

I SEE YOU
Arjun Rampal, Hrithik Roshan, Boman Irani, Chunky Pandey, Sonali Kulkarni, Shahrukh Khan, Vipasha Agarwal, Kirron Kher, Sophie Chaudhary, Michael Maloney
British Raj in the new millennium is quite unlike the one mentioned in Indian history textbooks. The only similarity between the two is the word "conquest". The big difference is that in this British Raj the conquest is restricted to only women! And the only thing British about it is Raj Jaiswal's suave demeanor.
Raj Jaiswal (Arjun Rampal) is the star attraction on the TV show British Raj. It's a fact he knows and exploits to his advantage… particularly with the opposite sex. Not surprisingly, he knows the art of harmless flirting and serious seduction. And he spares no one… not even a new recruit on the show!
But that was until that evening he bumped into Shivani (Vipasha) … in his own bedroom!
There she was like a dream. Or was it really a dream?
It's a question Raj can't seem to answer himself. After all, she breezes in and out of his home and office whether he likes it or not! Unfortunately, Raj seems to be the only one who seems to be able to see her or talk to her! A fact confirmed by the quizzical expressions on the faces of his colleagues and best friend Akshay (Chunky Panday).
Over the next few days, as the world watches in amusement, Raj Jaiswal raves, rants and romances with a woman who is quite simply "for his eyes only"! But is Shivani for real? Or is she a figment of his imagination? Or is she a ghost? Actually, these aren't the questions that bother Raj Jaiswal. What bothers him is the danger of falling in love with someone who seems to only exist in his world! |

KUDIYON KA HAI ZAMAANA
lt's about friendship and true love!
Rekha, Mahima Chaudhary, Ashmit Patel, Kim Sharma, Vasundhara Das, Sachin Khedekar, Gaurav Kapoor, Nikhil Chinnappa, Sanjit Bedi, Ashwin Mushran, Kabir Sadanand
The film is set in Mumbai and revolves around the relationships of four women mayuri (Rekha), Natasha (Vasundhra Das), Kanika (Kim Sharma) and Anjali (Mahima Chaudhary)
Even though the four of them aren't of the same age, they've grown to be the best of friends…their common meeting point is not a coffee shop or a kitty party (infact they hate them!) but the beauty salon the four of them go to pamper themselves at…in between the facials, manicures, pedicures and endless back rubs, they have become the best of friends!
Anjali is the cause of much envy for the remaining three…carefree and fancy-free anjali dates men all the time, and has a lot of fun…the other three married and bored, miss the fun she has. Another habit of Anjalis' that really annoys her friends is that she always bets with them, on almost anything and everything under the sun, and wins! The three of them so want to beat her just once...and make her shut up!
And so the conspiracy begins…! Anjali had once bet that she would never marry till she's 25, and so Mayuri, Natasha and Kanika decide to find a man for her, and win this one bet! But things get out of hand when each of the girls decide to outdo each other and find a man themselves for anjali…along the way Anjali meets Amar (Ashmit Patel) and falls in love with him which further adds to the chaos!

If he is successful it could be a boon for humanity else it could be a doom for mankind. Siddharth has been experimenting with cloning for the past two years and has been unsuccessful. He even lost his colleague and friend in the process. But today he is confident of succeeding. He needs permission from the Indian Medical Research Centre and his Guru Dr. Krishnan (Paresh Rawal). There are few people who don't approve of his experiment. Amongst them is Inspector Rathod (Rahul Dev). So Siddharth is shattered when Dr. Krishnan informs him that the permission to go ahead is not granted. Siddharth is shattered and his love, Aditi (Bipasha Basu) comforts him. She also suggests him that she would speak to her father Mr Chopra (Tinu Anand) who is a big industrialist and could finance him for his project to help him go ahead with his dream of creating a human clone.
After much thought and hesitation Siddharth agrees to take Aditi's help. He builds his own lab in an old burnt mill and starts with his experiment. He first clones a mouse. In the meanwhile Inspector Rathod gets suspicious about the sudden disappearance of Siddharth and starts to trace him. He meets people who are close to Siddharth but no one knows where Siddharth is. Time is running out as Inspector Rathod closes on to Siddharth's heels and ultimately Siddharth has to take a plunge and he begins to clone himself. He succeeds but his clone goes missing and all hell breaks loose when suddenly Siddharth is put behind bars for assaulting a girl at a Night Club (Maria Goretti). Siddharth realizes that it is his clone that is doing all this. But he is helpless, as no one believes him that he has cloned himself, not even Dr. Krishnan.
The clone has other ideas. He wants to take over Siddharth's life and starts playing games. He flirts with Dr. Krishnan's daughter Suchitra (Preeti Jhangiani) and even impregnates her. For Siddharth's project report, the clone kills Dr. Krishnan and the blame comes on Siddharth. Inspector Rathod gets furious and promises Siddharth that he will not let him go out alive from jail. Siddharth is in a major dilemma to prove his innocence of the crime that his clone has committed. But was Siddharth justified to go ahead and press the button to create the first human clone? Siddharth has to fight his own battle all alone with his own creation, and the law is not on his side. The climax of this sci-fi thriller promises to shock you and you will question to yourself "Can we pretend to be a creator or just be happy being the creations of the almighty".

Anjali now has not one two to three but four men wooing her, each with a secret agenda! Things get out of hand when Anjali realizes the conspiracy... a dramatic confrontation tears the friends apart as deep secrets are revealed where not all is, as it seems…

The Indian population and community is present all thorough the world. And a substantial part of this resides in Britain; some of them who have been there ever since the times of the British Raj in India. However, the elder generations have not forgotten their identities and the place they believe that their roots are instilled inn. But much to their dismay, that is not the case with the younger Generation that has been born there and has been influenced by the surrounding that they have grown up inn. Our Story revolves around one such girl who has been born and brought up in the heart of London Jasmine alias Jazz cause that’s the name that she goes by and prefers being called; has already been through hoards of eligible suitors that have approached her through the recommendation of her father; and made sure that she has gotten rid of them in one way or another. The primary reason being that Jazz is not interested in being tied down by a typical Indian male but would rather be with a white man who she feels would be more in tune with her way of thinking and lifestyle. That’s why she has uncanny closeness for her boss namely Charlie brown, who has been through three divorce settlements already and is now looking for the fourth Mrs. Brown. Charlie brown too reciprocates the same feelings towards jazz.
One fine day when Charlie and Jazz are on a date, Charlie pops the question. But before Jazz can give him an answer, their tender moment of togetherness has been cut off by a not so tender phone call from Jazz’s father Manmohan. Manmohan has an ingenious plan to take his family on a trip to India and hopes that this is one way that will not only help him get his family in touch with their roofs but also help him find a good Indian husband for his Jasmine.
Manmohan after a serious bout of the worst encounters with the Indian suitors finally turns to his best friend in the village Balwinder and as luck would have it he is pleasantly surprised to see that his friend’s son AK is a suitable match for his Jasmine. So, much to the disagreement of Jazz, Manmohan gets her married off.
On reaching London. Jazz, finally speaks her mind in front of AK and declares to him and the family, that she think of her marriage as a force and of no relevance cause it was not even registered in the court. Jazz also makes it clear that her marriage to AK was a part of the plan conceived by Imran and herself in order to get her back where she belongs - in London.
AK is distraught when he learns that Jazz was in love with Charlie brown her boss and has also agreed to his marriage proposal. He is torn between his logical instincts and the blind love that he has for his wife. So he decides that he must stay on for Jazz’s marriage to Charlie as it might just give him the time he requires in order to win the love of this girl who has no regard for their marriage but who has already accepted as his wife.
This begins Arjun’s journey in a strange land amongst strange people in a quest to win over his wife. The woman who has married and also to make her realize that her place is truly by his side. Whether Arjun can go against all odds and accomplish what he set out to achieve or not forms the rest of our story from here on. |

OMKARA*
Ajay Devgan, Saif Ali Khan, Viveik Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor, Konkona Sen, Bipasha Basu, Naseeruddin Shah
The film is Vishal Bharadwaj's interpretation of William Shakespeare's classic play, Othello. A play that has been made four times in Hollywood but is being brought to life for the first time as a mainstream Hindi film in a commercial format. Like the legendary Hollywood filmmaker, Orson Wells, Vishal Bharadwaj too is fascinated with Shakespearean drama - one of Vishal's finest works remains his interpretation of Shakespeare's Macbeth - Maqbool. Likewise, Omkara in spirit, stays true to the central theme of Othello and ends up humanizing Shakespeare's characters with all the necessary folklore and ethnic charm that is required for a contemporary Indian story setting.
Set against the milieu of political warfare in the interiors of Uttar Pradesh, the film follows one man's descent into sexual jealousy because of his passionate love for his woman and the final destruction of that love at the altar of blind obsession. Love is blind but jealousy is even blinder and that can tear apart even the strongest and bravest of warriors - in this case Omkara.
Omkara or Omi is a gifted chieftain who heads a gang of outlaws, which include the crafty Langda Tyagi and the dynamic Kesu amongst his chief cohorts. The story begins when Omi appoints Kesu and not Langda as his chief lieutenant. Langda's pride is slighted and raging with envy he hatches a plot to falsely implicate Omi's beautiful wife Dolly, in a love affair with Omi's "favorite lieutenant", Kesu. With the unwitting aid of Indu, Langda's wife, and the willing help of Rajju, a fellow grouch, Langda's plan blooms uncontrollably and results in horrific tragedy. Using petty insinuations and lies, Langda keeps poisoning Omi's mind till one day it snaps and Omi goes about tearing up his own safe and secure world..
But like all love stories which never really end. Out of the ashes of this one too comes a twist… Omkara's dark love for Dolly, Dolly's unquestioning love for Omi, Langda's warped loyalty and jealousy for Omi, the vibrant Kesu's unswerving devotion to Omi - all lead up to a dark tragedy by the end of which Omi finally realizes the backlash of his actions but is it too late…?

SAAWAN* - The Love Season
Salman Khan, Kapil Jhaveri, Saloni Aswani, Prem Chopra, Ranjeet, Bobby Darling, Kiran Rathod, Johny Lever
"Ironically, the story of the film unwinds against a background of two conflicting beliefs- destiny and --- coincidence. The hero believes in destiny while the girl he loves, believes that everything in life is about sheer coincidence. The two meet in Cape Town where and an intense love story blossoms between the two but tragedy strikes when the boy loses the girl. The lovelorn hero, who is desperate to get back to love, keeps yearning for her until the power above comes to his rescue and endows him with unique intuitive ability of foresight. That's when he meets his lover once again under mysterious circumstances and rescues her from an accident that he foresees.
"The honesty and conviction with which Salman has rendered his performance in the film, is visible in each of its frames. He is the kind of actor who lives and breathes his character through the completion of the film His intense, brooding look in the film and the stark honesty in his eyes, amply justify his deep involvement in the film. His dedication was also evident in the fact that he specially decided to grow stubble in order to give his character the look of a tormented lover. Moreover his long- haired look in the film, has given an added intensity to his character.
The film also has a 7- minute qawalli number picturized on Salman, Which has been composed by Aadesh Srivastava. To keep the entertainment element alive, it also has a parallel comedy track on Johnny Lever and Bobby Darling.
The picturesque locales of Cape Town where the story takes off, have given the film an ideal backdrop. I hope destiny makes its presence felt once again and makes the film a roaring success at the box- office." |

SARHAD PAAR
Sanjay Dutt, Tabu, Mahima Chaudhary, Chandrachur Singh, Rahul Dev
Army man Ranjit Singh [Sanjay Dutt] returns home after a long time. Declared missing in action after he inadvertently crossed the border, Ranjit went through trauma and torment as a prisoner across the border. Amongst the faces to greet Ranjit on his return is that of his wife Pammi [Tabu] and sister Simran [Mahima Chaudhary]. They are happy that their loved one is back, but are shocked to see his condition. In the Army Hospital, Ranjit is trying to recuperate from the horrifying experiences he has gone through. He sees a face every time he shuts his eyes, only to reopen them in a state of confusion. He has lost his memory, but can only remember this face.
Meanwhile, Pammi and Simran try to help Ranjit to get back to normal life, but in vain. Disappointed, Pammi begins giving up hope when Simran vows to bring Ranjit back to his normal self. How she will do this, no one knows, but she has the support of Ravi [Chandrachur Singh], a folk singer whom she is engaged to. Simran's efforts pay off and Ranjit discovers the root cause of his pathetic condition. His tormentor was Bhaktavar [Rahul Dev], a mercenary terrorist associated with traitors in India.
While Ranjit tries to fight the enemy within and Pammi tries to recapture the glorious moments with her husband, Simran is caught in the emotional dilemma between supporting her brother in his fight against his oppressor and fulfilling her marital commitment to the man she has tied the knot for life.
SARHAD PAAR is about the faith and courage of Indian people; a story of the heroism of a traumatised soldier who wants to take revenge for the cruelties he suffered and the hardships his family had to face while he was in captivity.
As Ranjit Singh, he is the patriotic soldier out for revenge as well as the man whose urge for sweet romance with his wife still goes strong. While he is the ever-caring father figure to his sister, he is also the man of action with sharp senses to distinguish between the right and the wrong and to stand up against the evil
